Program Description

Franklin Middle School

School Year

Those who enroll in Bright Futures during the school year at Franklin Middle School can expect to experience three things:  Academic enrichment, social encouragement, and a staff devoted to creating a better tomorrow for each student.

Bright Futures runs Monday through Thursday, from 2:45pm until 5:45pm.  During this time, students participate in extra-curricular clubs such as Health/Fitness, Cooking, Dance, Martial Arts, and Drama.  They also engage in academic clubs such as Math Olympics, Science, Young Authors, and Reading.

Students receive help with homework, and are also exposed to educational board games such as Chess, Monopoly, and Risk.

Summer

The Bright Futures Summer Program at Franklin Middle School is less academic than the school year.  Students who enroll can expect a “summer camp” experience during the six week program.

Mondays and Tuesdays are spent at Franklin, where students participate in activities such as soccer, art, cultures, music and movie-making.  Wednesdays are swim days next door at the Wayne Rec building, and Thursdays are reserved for field trips and special events.
