Program Description

At the Marshall Bright Futures program we focus on providing academic and social enrichment for all our students.  We run a variety of fun clubs and academic programs that are a safe way to expose students to new activities.  By working closely with families and the Marshall School staff, we are able to identify and meet the specific needs of our students.

Our program runs Monday through Thursday 2:45pm to 5:45pm.  A snack is served to each student as they arrive to the Bright Futures room.  During snack, students participate in “News and Views” which is a time where students read the newspaper and have a discussion about what’s going on in the news.  Also during snack time students can submit an answer for the “Brain Teaser of the Day.”  After snack we transition to our clubs (At the beginning of each session students pick one club for each day and participate in that club for 10 weeks.  Our clubs are designed to expose students to fun new activities that they may not have had an opportunity to participate in at home or school).

Some of our clubs are Community Records, Weird Science, Karate, and Cooking.  Following clubs is our academic enrichment.  During the enrichment time we use fun creative ways to build upon what the students learn in their core classes.  After Academic Enrichment students have time to complete any homework they may have before going home.

Everyday in Bright Futures students take advantage of the opportunity to learn new things.  We provide an environment that students from all walks of life feel safe to be themselves. Our clubs, academic enrichment, and leadership academies offer multiple sources of learning so students can have the skills needed to be productive members of their communities.
