The EMU Bright Futures Site Coordinator at Perry Early Learning Center is Katie Dreyer.  She graduated from Oakland University with her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 2010.   She successfully completed the first three years of her education career in the regular classroom.

When she began her journey with EMU Bright Futures in 2014, her first two years were spent working with second through fifth graders at Estabrook Elementary.  She loved Estabrook, but she knew her heart was in early childhood.  So, in fall 2016, she started a new program at Perry Early Learning Center and continues to run a program full of love there.

When she is not working or doing homework to earn her Masters degree in School Counseling, you can find Katie hanging out with her family, boyfriend Chris, and dog Bro.  She loves to do yoga, cook, bake, decorate, entertain, and travel.  Namaste!

Program Description

EMU Bright Futures at Perry Early Learning Center serves kindergarten and first grade students.  The main emphasis is on enrichment, academic support, social-emotional learning, building leadership skills, and exposing the students to new experiences.  The goal of the program is to provide a safe, supportive, and loving after school program that students love to attend!  To make this happen, everyone engages in team builders, clubs, reflection, fitness, and community time.  EMUBF at Perry ELC runs Monday through Thursday during the school from 3:15-3:45pm.
